Outdoor Rock Climbing
Outdoor rock climbing is super enjoyable for everyone of every level! Whether you are a seasoned indoor climber or a family looking for an adventurous day out. At HK Adventuring we can provide you with amazing days out on the rock.
Our days have a multitude of focusses but always come back to fun learning in the outdoors to be a safe and proficient outdoor climber.

Our courses run throughout Mid-Wales, Eryri (Snowdonia), Lake District and the Peak District. We do do some days each year down in Portland for some mega sport climbing.

All courses have instructor : participant ratios, at HK Adventuring if you have a larger group then we will provide additional qualified staff.

Family day climbing
Have a great day out as a family overcoming heights in the Peaks, North Wales, or the Lakes on holiday, for a birthday, or a bonding experience. We will focus not just on enjoyment but trust within your family with everyone getting involved.

Have a fantastic relaxed but exhilarating day with HK Adventuring taking in some abseils, climbs and much more.

Improver course (2-days)
You've taken your first steps into outdoor climbing and want to progress?
​
This 2-day course will cover everything from being an efficient 'second' and trad anchor building. The first day will get the basics in with lots of climbing before looking more into anchors and how to build them and belaying your buddy from the top. You will be prepared to take your next steps into the climbing.
This course is run at an instructor ratio of 1:4 max.

Rock climbing days
Do you want to take your first steps climbing? Or are you experienced but want some extra confidence outdoors?
​
As a first taste of outdoor climbing today is about getting in lots of routes and conquering any fears and getting used to real rock - it is so different to indoors.
​
If you are wanting a tailored rock climbing day we can offer these. The day will be dictated by you at your pace.
​
By the end of today you'll be well prepared to take the next step in your climbing journey.

Improver course (3-days)
The gold standard of our improver courses. We will take you from a basic outdoor climbing level to a competent outdoor climber who can start looking towards safe leading. This curse is for those who have little experience in outdoor climbing and are wanting to become well experienced climbers.

Over the three days we will have lots of climbing opportunity whilst learning the dynamics of trad gear placement, anchor building, abseil set-ups, belaying from above, and being safe but efficient climbing buddies.

Improvers course (1-day)
You've taken your first steps into outdoor climbing and want to progress?
​
In this 1-day course we will focus on being a competent 'second' on trad climbing routes. We will focus on safe and efficient climbing on trad routes and belaying from the top of routes,
We recommend the two day course but understand that is not always viable for everyone.
​

Anchor building clinic
Do you want to become a safer climber? Then book today for an anchor building clinic with HK Adventuring.
​
Throughout this day we will look at different anchor set-ups, in-reach, out of reach, rope, sling etc. and talk about the pro's and con's of each.
​
After taking part in this day you will have a greater grasp on how you can use different set-ups and we will set-up some abseils from these anchors and do some belaying from above.
​
